Fossa Magna, when it hits, reduces an enemy's HP to 1. If the enemy already had 1HP, it dies. Thus, Fossa Magna can usually kill any beast in two shots. (The only exception is if the beast heals before the second shot - if the amulet turns and Medinite is cast, or if the attack is within three turns of Limenate being used.)
The disadvantage of Fossa Magna is that its accuracy is very limited - in his guide, Lancet Jades suggests it is usually about 60% as accurate as a 'standard' attack, such as Explode (A).
